An 84-year-old retired post office worker in India claims he has taken a coronavirus vaccine at least 11 times and “felt better” for it each time.
Brahmadeo Mandal is said to have hoodwinked health workers and a government monitoring system by going to different vaccination centres and giving his relatives’ phone numbers and identities each time.
It was only when he turned up to receive a 12th dose that he was detected and officials ordered an inquiry into how the “state of the art” monitoring system for administering vaccines had failed.
Mandal told reporters he was simply making the most of a good thing. “The government has made a wonderful thing. I benefited a lot from the vaccine. That is why I have been
