In times of national crisis such as this, the role of the royal family is to inspire and encourage, and act as role models for the rest of the nation.

When it comes to social distancing, however, there is one royal who is resolutely refusing to act as a good example. On the other hand, Prince Louis is only two, so perhaps we can forgive him.

The Duchess of Cambridge has said that Louis is too young to understand social distancing, and wants to “cuddle everything”. She revealed how her third child was coping with the restrictions during the pandemic as she met parents to mark the launch of the BBC’s Tiny Happy People digital resource.
