Protesters are currently blocking the road at the scene of a Home Office raid in Glasgow which has been ongoing since this morning.
The UK Border Agency arrived at a property on Kenmure Street in Pollokshields shortly before 10am on Thursday.
This alerted dozens of activists who arrived on the street, with well over 100 people now in attendance, and one person is believed to be lying in front of the van blocking it from departing.
Pictures taken from the scene show activists sitting on the middle of the road surrounding the Home Office van.
A video, which was sent to the Record, has captured a large group chanting 'let them go, let them go'.
Just after 5pm police announced that the men were being released on safety grounds.

Incredible stuff from the people of Glasgow. Proving there is great humanity and empathy, despite being dictated to by those in power in Westminster, who clearly don’t care. #KenmureStreet

Nicola Sturgeon comments on the release of the detained men
1/ Today’s events were entirely down to @ukhomeoffice actions. @policescotland were in an invidious position - they do not assist in the removal of asylum seekers but do have a duty to protect public safety. They act independently of ministers, but I support this decision https://t.co/9SCNGa6tpy

Glasgow Council leader condemns Home Office
The behaviour by the Home Office in Kenmure St today is appalling. Dawn raids on asylum seekers were common during the early 2000s. Glaswegians stood against them then but unjust & inhumane policies are endemic to the Westminster Home Office. We need control over this issues
