The mayor of Rome has presented a soft drink can as evidence that the problems with the city’s crumbling infrastructure are not all her fault.

Virginia Raggi posted an image on Facebook of a Coca-Cola can from 2000 that was recently recovered from a storm drain in Monte Sacro, a northern suburb. “It’s the symbol of the neglect and total absence of maintenance of Rome’s manholes and storm drains in recent decades,” she wrote.
