Teeth-whitening trip to Turkey ends in tragedy for three friends

One of three men who travelled to Turkey for dental treatment died and the other two were left in a coma.

Richard Molloy, 33, a DJ, collapsed and died after taking what is thought to be medication associated with teeth whitening. Aaron Callaghan and Declan Carson were taken to hospital by ambulance.

Officials in Bodrum claim that the men, from the Ardoyne district of north Belfast, became unwell after taking drugs and alcohol in their apartment. The friends had arrived in the Aegean resort on Thursday and became unwell after a party on Friday night, the Bodrum Olay newspaper reported. Turkish police are understood to have arrested two people.
