A 17-year-old girl falsely claimed that she had a brain tumour and then founded a charity that was supported by pop stars and David Cameron. Megan Bhari travelled on a private jet and luxury liners and stayed at a Disney resort when she was “having treatment” in America.

In 2012 she set up Believe in Magic to help “other” terminally ill children, but their parents eventually smelt a rat. She was a trustee with her mother, Jean O’Brien, 66, and Nick and Louise O’Brien, close relatives.
