A new movement aims to take seats at Holyrood as part of moves to eventually abolish the Scottish parliament.

Abolish the Scottish Parliament’s leader wants to return to direct rule from Westminster. The group launched on social media and claims that mainstream parties’ support for a parliament in Edinburgh turns off many Unionist voters.

John Mortimer, 30, the group’s leader, said that the reality of devolution in 2020 was very different to the idea voters were sold by in the late 1990s.
