British Airways has been called Broken Airways, Brutish Airways, Beyond Awful — and worse — over the years. Now, however, the flag carrier’s boss, Alex Cruz, has devised a foolproof way to put an end to criticism: banning it.

Changes to the small print of the British Airways Executive Club rules reveal that passengers who criticise the airline can be ousted from its frequent flyer programme and have their coveted Avios air miles voided.

“Any conduct” that causes “a detrimental effect or reflects unfavourably on the reputation of British Airways or any aspect of its business, brands, products or services” may lead to expulsion, the new rules say.
