Bernie Sanders is pushing for a job in Joe Biden’s cabinet as the jostling for status in a potential Democratic administration begins before election day.
The socialist senator from Vermont, who gave Hillary Clinton a fright in the 2016 primaries and was for a time this year’s frontrunner for his party’s nomination, is said to be keen on the position of labour secretary. “I can confirm he’s trying to figure out how to land that role or something like it,” Politico reported an ally of Mr Sanders, 79, as saying.
Mr Sanders refused to rule out the possibility. “Right now I am focused on seeing that Biden is elected president. That’s what my main focus is,” he said. He has been conspicuously loyal to Mr
