Nicola Sturgeon said she would reciprocate Boris Johnson’s promise of “tonnes of fish” for Christmas by buying him a hairbrush.
The first minister took a light-hearted swipe at Mr Johnson’s famously tousled locks in her final coronavirus briefing before Christmas.
Last week the prime minister said his Christmas present to Ms Sturgeon would be a Brexit deal that secures a bigger fishing quota. “The people of Scotland will become the proud possessors of hundreds of thousands of tonnes of fish, shellfish, crustaceans . . . She will have more than she could possibly consume herself for a very, very long time to come.”
Asked what she would give him in return yesterday, Ms Sturgeon replied: “A hairbrush maybe?”
